TEAM SIGMA NUUN TRAINING CAMP
Every year the boys who race for Team Sigma Nuun go to a training camp in Mallorca to prepare for the up coming season. Going along for the ride, was none other than our very own head mechanic, Max Knott. He also happens to be Team Mechanic for Team Sigma Nuun, so it was pretty important for him to turn up for the trip, especially as we all know most Semi Pro riders can be a bit useless when it comes to maintaining their own bikes.
The team were away for 8 days in total, with some early starts and late finishes, getting their times dialled on hilly terrain and building up their stamina. Porto Pollensa, the area where the team trained, is extremely popular amongst cyclists. With it's mountainous terrain over looking the coast, you can find cyclists from all rides of life there. Most of them probably drinking coffee and eating a pastry after a tough 30 minute ride. But you do get a lot of teams go there for training weeks and even the odd pro rider turns up to show how it's done.
8 DAYS. 18 RIDERS. 17,500 COLLECTIVE MILES RIDDEN.
The team are sponsored by Cannondale, and they swap between training on the 2017 Cannondale CAAD12 and the SuperSix HM Ultegra. Averaging around 120 km a day, the team were out every morning putting in the miles. The cycling season is well underway and we wish Team Sigma Nuun the best of luck. For starters, we can pretty much guarantee they'll have some of the best tuned bikes out there.
